

The WitchAs the hunched figure shuffled towards to the door of the inn, the rain beat down on her as if delivering some divine punishment. Whilst her progress was slow and almost unsteady, the old woman seemed to command a presence that made all the night creatures back away, so none of the normal night sounds could be heard, save the dragging of her feet and the thump of her gnarled walking stick. She reached the door of the inn and pushed it open effortlessly. Light spilled out onto the muddy street and the sound of voices and laughter emanated from within. A soft voice sang a popular folk song in a sweet melody. The old woman looked round toThe Witch
